Honda Recalling Acura TL Vehicles for a Fire Hazard from a Fluid Leak
Honda has announced a voluntary recall of 52,615 vehicles due to the under-hood and power steering fluid temperatures that may cause the power steering hose to deteriorate, resulting in fluid leakage and may lead to a under-hood fire.
According to the recall notice, if this occurs, power steering fluid can leak onto a hot catalytic converter, leading to smoke, potentially leading to a vehicle fire. The recalls affects the following vehicles that are equipped with the power steering hose:
- Model year 2007 Acura TL manufactured 2007 to 2008
Under the recall notice, Honda will notify owners and dealers will install a new heat resistant power steering hose and it will be performed free of charge. For additional information, owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-800-999-1009.
