Doug Burnetti

Hi, I am Doug Burnetti. I was born in St. Charles, Illinois, but lived most of my life in Florida.

After graduating high school, I attended the University of Florida where I obtained my bachelors degree, having graduated with highest honors. After that, I had the opportunity to choose several different law schools, but I chose the University of Florida College of Law where I graduated in 1990. My wife and I married during law school and we have been blessed with two wonderful daughters.

After law school, I started working with a small litigation firm where I was fortunate to learn much about civil trial law.

In 1994, I began the Law Firm of Burnetti, P.A. where I have worked ever since. At Burnetti, P.A, we decided from the beginning to represent only the people and not the powerful. Specifically, we committed never to represent insurance companies or big corporations.

My practice has always concentrated solely on representing those who are injured or the families of those who have been killed as a result someone else's negligence. My practice involves all types of injury cases including auto accidents, medical malpractice, defective products, prescription drugs, slip and fall cases, dog bite cases, and really any type of negligence case where someone was harmed.

As you can see from the contents of this website, our firm has been very successful in handling these types of cases over the years, and fortunately, I have had the opportunity to spend a lot of time in the courtroom. In fact, I became board certified as a civil trial lawyer in June of 1999. Less than 2% of lawyers in Florida are board certified. The qualifications for becoming board certified as a civil trial lawyer are quite extensive, requiring a specific number of trials, a certain level of experience, and the passage of a very difficult written examination.

As a board certified civil trial lawyer, I have had the opportunity to handle many different types of cases in the courtroom including auto accidents, premises liability, medical malpractice, nursing home neglect, and products liability.

As the founder of Burnetti, P.A., I am very pleased to have watched the firm develop over the years. We have grown tremendously and now have several trial lawyers which you can hear about by clicking on their picture on this web site. I have seen Burnetti, P.A. grow from 1 lawyer and 1 secretary to several lawyers and many support staff employees. In fact, Burnetti, P.A. now consists of 4 staffed offices throughout Florida and almost 100 employees.

Our firm has a rating from Martin-Dale Hubbell which is the only service of which I am aware that surveys lawyers and judges in order to obtain ratings for lawyers and law firms. As a result of that rating process, Burnetti, P.A. is AV rated, which is the highest rating by Martin-Dale Hubbell.

I am also very pleased to see how Burnetti, P.A. has developed into a premiere trial lawyer firm. One of our goals for the lawyers of Burnetti, P.A. is that they actually try cases. We believe that trying cases helps protect all of our clients in the long run, and actually helps our clients even at the bargaining table. Additionally, Burnetti, P.A. brings a financial strength for our clients which further helps our clients case.

If we can be of service to you at Burnetti, P.A., please don't hesitate to email us or call us at 1-800-BURNETTI. Burnetti, P.A., Working Justice for You.
