Staff Info
The Staff at Burnetti, P.A. are made up of what we consider to be the quality of individual that we would want to represent each one of us if we had need of a Personal Injury Attorney and their firm.
For the most part, there are job positions which include Investigators, receptionists, clerks, paralegals that are pre-suit, litigation paralegals and legal assistants. All of these individuals go to make up the team that will be serving you.
A little bit about each of these individuals:
· Investigators. Our investigators are some what we consider the best trained and most qualified men & women in this field. And often these will be some of the first individuals you will have person to person contact with since they be actually coming to your home to assist and start the process of opening a file so that we move forward with any important investigation. So often time can be of the essence in gathering information before it begins to disappear and also because memories become faint with time it is often important that we have recorded statements done early of witnesses to any event or incident. At Burnetti, P.A. we have fill staff of trained Investigators.
· Clerks. Clerks are often made up of individuals such as part-time college students to provide with service of doing such things as filing and as general assistants around the office.
· Legal Secretaries. Legal secretaries are really in the first tier of individuals who have some training in the field of doing legal work. It should be recognized that their skill level often times will not be in the same level as a paralegal. They are often utilized to assist the paralegal in terms of preparation of documents that are going to be filed with the court and otherwise on your behalf.
· Paralegals. Paralegals are primarily made up of persons who have some of the greatest exposure to the law. They are often subdivided within categories of pre-suit paralegals and litigation paralegals. The difference is very important. The pre-suit paralegal is more than capable of assisting the attorney in handling your file and helping with questions you may have and contact to see that your attorney of aware of your circumstance. It is often simply a choice evens sometimes more than qualification by an individual who doesn’t want to become a paralegal involved with litigation. Once a case is moved into litigation because we were not able to settle or resolve the matter through discussions with the insurance company, we will then reassign a file to a litigation paralegal who will help with preparing the necessary documents to file a law suit on your behalf. That litigation paralegal will probably work on your case through its conclusion at what may be a fill trial before a jury.
· Attorney Assistants. Attorney assistants are usually people who assist with the preparation of demand letters that go to adjustors and insurance companies. They are highly trained and often times have experience themselves in the past of working as an adjustor in the insurance industry. Obviously they cannot practice law and they are not attorneys. Therefore all negotiation is still occurring at the direction and through the attorney that is handling your file. Hopefully though by the involvement of the attorney assistant in your case it will see that things flow smoothly in terms of communication between your attorney and the insurance company and that there are not any undue delays in the handling of your file.
The staff at Burnetti, P.A. want to serve you. and even more so they want to perceive them as your friend and not another multi layer organization of bureaucracy that you have to work through in order to see that your file is handled properly. We encourage you to approach our staff with the appreciation and respect that we want to show you as well.
