Tim Sanders

      Hi, my name is Tim Sanders from Burnetti, P.A. I was born in Port Huron, Michigan, and have lived in Michigan for most of my life. After graduating high school, I attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, graduating with honors and then attending Michigan State University College of Law.

     Following graduation from law school, I practiced law for 4 years at a medium-sized law firm in Saginaw, Michigan. My practice primarily consisted of defending insurance companies and their insured in personal injury cases, contract actions, and policy disputes. However, I was fortunate to also be able to handle cases in a wide variety of areas, including asbestos litigation, criminal defense, family law, and social security disability appeals. I’ve had the honor of successfully arguing cases in front of the Michigan Court of Appeals, as well as winning an appeal at the Supreme Court level.
     Although I enjoyed experience I gained doing defense work, I became frustrated defending insurance companies and trying to downplay the claims of people who were genuinely hurt. One thing I did benefit from was representing injured people at social security disability appeals. While doing social security work, I came to realize that I needed to make a change. It was at this point I decided to move to Florida and represent the injured, rather than the wealthy insurance companies.
     I am thankful to be working at Burnetti, P.A. I love meeting new people from all walks of life and aggressively representing them. While it is very important to have a firm knowledge of the law, I feel the importance of being a good listener cannot be underestimated. Being in an accident and being injured is a very painful and frustrating process. I’m always willing to listen to what you are experiencing and assist you with all of the frustrations that go along with being seriously injured. Living with pain and injuries is not easy, especially when it is not your fault.
     I understand your frustration. You didn’t ask to be hit by a careless driver. You didn’t ask to slip and fall due to the negligence of a store. You didn’t ask to be bitten by somebody’s unleashed dog. I am well aware of the tactics used by insurance companies to try to minimize the value of your claim. But rest assured that I am committed to zealously represent you and to pursue your claim to the fullest.
