Workplace injuries may range from mild sprains and abrasions to spinal cord injuries and traumatic brain injuries. The results from an injury at work can be devestating, and even result in loss of life. To raise awareness about occupational safety, health and the environment, the American Society of Safety Engineers’ (ASSE) and the Canadian Society of Safety Engineers (CSSE) joined together in 2002 to establish NAOSH Week.
NAOSH Week includes a Kids’ ‘Safety-on-the-Job’ Poster Contest in support of worker safety, various events in Washington, D.C., plus numerous other events, classes and workshops hosted by ASSE members across North America.
