Honda recently announced that it will recall 1.5 million vehicles to update the automatic transmission software in several popular models.
According to American Honda Motor Co.,
shifting between the reverse, neutral and drive positions – a common sequence when drivers are trying to dislodge a vehicle trapped in mud or snow – can damage a bearing in the automatic transmission system. This may lead to the engine stalling or difficulty shifting into the parked position.
Honda will update the software package of the recalled Honda Accords, CR-Vs and Elements free of charge. For more information, owners may call Honda Automobile Customer Service at 1-800-999-1009.
If you have been in an accident involving a recalled vehicle and suffered a severe injury, defective product attorneys may be able to help you pursue a claim for compensation. For more information, call 1-888-BURNETTI.
