General Motors is recalling over 10,000 Chevrolet Impalas to address power steering problems. According to the recall notice, a power steering hose may be misrouted, causing heat from the catalytic converter to melt the hose. If this occurs, the hose may spray power steering fluid onto hot engine parts, potentially causing a fire.
The recall affects model year 2012 Chevy Impalas manufactured from April 19, 2011 through July 29, 2011. Under the recall notice, GM dealerships will inspect the hose to see if it is properly routed and make any necessary repairs free of charge. For more information, owners may contact Chevrolet at
