The Italian luxury brand Maserati is recalling certain model GranTurismo and Quattroporte vehicles for a tie-rod issue. According to the recall notice issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, incorrect machining may lead to problems with the rear-tie rods, potentially causing part of the rear suspension to fail.
The recall affects the 2009 model year GranTurismo and Quattroporte vehicles manufactured from July 3, 2008 through September 30, 2008. Under the recall notice, dealers will replace the affected tie-rods, install a tie-rod kit and perform a wheel alignment, free of charge.
