Daimler Trucks North America has announced a voluntary recall of 4,700 buses due to relay power terminal that may cause a fire and may lead to a crash.
According to the recall notice, the grid heater ground may contact the relay power terminal and rub and chafe, potentially resulting in a short circuit which may result in a fire. The recalls affects the following vehicles that are equipped with the wheel lug nuts:
- Model year 2011 Thomas Built Saf-T-Liner-C2 manufactured November 2010 to October 2011
Under the recall notice, Daimler Trucks North America will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the heater relay ground wire is correctly routed and repairs will be free of charge. For addition information, owners may contact DTNA at 1-800-547-0712.
