Volkswagen of America, Inc. has announced a voluntary recall of 317 vehicles due to the seam of the air bag not being stitched properly and passengers may be at an increased risk for an injury.
According to the recall notice, the head curtain air bag may not deploy and will not be able to properly protect an occupant, increasing the chance of an injury. The recalls affects the following vehicles that are equipped with the air bags:
- Model year 2012 Audi A6 manufactured April 2011 to May 2011
Under the recall notice, DTNA will notify owners and dealers and will replace the left and/or right curtain air bag free of charge. For addition information, owners may contact Volkswagen at 1-800-822-8987.
