Nissan has announced a voluntary recall of 33,803 vehicles due to the thermal stud bolt that may result in a voltage drop causing damage to the engine control module, (ECM) increasing the risk of a crash.
According to the recall notice, the electrical system issue can cause the engine to stall while the vehicle is in motion, potentially leading to a crash. The recalls affects the following vehicles that are equipped with positive battery terminal:
- Model year 2010 Nissan Sentra manufactured May 2010 to October 2010
Under the recall notice, Nissan will notify owners and dealers and will place the positive battery terminal and cover free of charge. For addition information, owners may contact Nissan at 1-800-647-7261.
