Ford has announced a voluntary recall of 205,896 vehicles due to the torque converter output shaft may fail and may lead to a crash.
According to the recall notice, without warning this condition could result in a sudden loss of motive power, potentially leading to a crash. The recalls affects the following vehicles that are equipped with the torque converter:
- Model year 2004 Ford Freestar manufactured 2004 to 2005
- Model year 2004 Mercury Monterey manufactured 2004 to 2005
