Goodyear recently announced a recall of six versions of the Wrangler Silent Armor tires. The tread could separate from the tire and cause accidents in severe usage conditions. The separated tread has the potential to impact the car and damage it.
Approximately 40,000 tires were made in 2009, and an estimated 27,000 are still in use. They were designed for use on SUVs, trucks, and vans.
According to the recall notice, the company will replace the recalled tires with new ones. Goodyear will contact affected owners, and the recall will begin by March 22, 2012. For more information, please call the Goodyear Customer Assistance Center at 1-800-321-2136.
