Chrysler has announced a voluntary recall of 209,724 vehicles due to the lower control arm that may fracture due to excessive corrosion, increasing the risk of a crash.
According to the recall notice, in the event of a crash, a fracture of the rear lower control arm may result in a loss of vehicle control, potentially leading to a crash. The recalls affects the following vehicles that are equipped with the rear control arms:
- Model year 2004 Jeep Liberty manufactured July 2003 through July 2005
Under the recall notice Chrysler will notify owners and dealers will replace the rear lower control arms on all affected vehicles and it will be performed free of charge. For additional information, owners may contact Chrysler at 1-800-853-1403
