Honda has announced a voluntary recall of 554,428 sport utility vehicles due to the increased electrical resistance that may cause the electrical terminal ends to melt within the wiring harness connector and it may increase the risk of a crash.
According to the recall notice, if this occurs the low beam headlights may become inoperative, reducing driver visibility, potentially leading to a crash. The recalls affects the following vehicles that are equipped with the low beam terminal harness:
- Model year 2002 Honda CR-V manufactured 2002 through 2004
- Model year 2003 Honda Pilot manufactured 2002 through 2003
Under the recall notice, Honda will notify owners and dealers will repair the low beam terminal harness or replace the light switch as necessary and it will be performed free of charge. For additional information, owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-800-999-1009.
