General Motors (GM) has announced a voluntary recall of 50,001 sport utility vehicles due to snow or ice buildup on the windshield that may loosen and cause the wiper to become inoperative, increasing the risk of a crash.
According to the recall notice, if this occurs driver visibility could be reduced,Â potentially leading to a crash. The recalls affects the following vehicles that are equipped with wiper arm nuts:
- Model year 2011 Buick Enclave manufactured 2011 through 2012
- Model year 2011 Chevrolet Traverse manufactured 2011 through 2012
- Model year 2011 GMC Acadia manufactured 2011 through 2012
Under the recall notice, GM will notify owners and dealers will tighten the wiper arm nuts and it will be performed free of charge. For more information, owners may contact General Motors at 1-313-556-5000.
