The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) is joining with thousands of other law enforcement agencies across the country in participating in the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign. The deterrence program, which lasts until September 3rd this year, is a mass effort to eliminate drunk drivers from the roads.
FHP Director Colonel David Brierton promises, “FHP troopers will aggressively look for impaired drivers during the crackdown.” All uniformed FHP employees will be on patrol along interstates and other major roads during the Labor Day weekend in an attempt to reduce traffic violations and assist motorists who break down or are in need of other assistance.
The Patrol reminds drivers to obey all posted speed limits, buckle their safety belts, only drive while sober, and, if you intend to drink, have a designated driver. Motorists can call *FHP (*347) on their mobile phone to contact the Highway Patrol to request roadside assistance or report impaired and/or aggressive drivers.
If you or a loved one has been injured in an alcohol related accident, including a car accident, truck accident, or wrongful death you may be able to file a drunk driving lawsuit. Contact Florida drunk driving accident lawyers at Burnetti, P.A. for a free consultation or call 1-888-BURNETTI.
