Honda has announced a voluntary recall of 748,481 vehicles due to the one or more rivets that attach the airbag module to the airbag cover that may be missing, increasing the risk of an injury during a crash.
According to the recall notice, the absences of more than one rivet could alter the performance of the driver’s airbag during deployment, potentially leading to an injury. The recalls affects the following vehicles that are equipped with the driver’s airbag module:
- Model year 2011 Honda Odyssey manufactured March 2008 through December 2012
- Model year 2009 Honda Pilot manufactured March 2008 through December 2012
Under the recall notice, Honda will notify owners and instruct them to take their vehicle to a Honda dealer and it will be performed free of charge. For additional information, owners may contact Honda at 1-800-999-1009.
