Suzuki has recalled approximately 210,228 motorcycles due to brake issues. Older brake fluid and corrosion of the brake piston located inside the front brake cylinder can cause a gas to form that reduces fluid pressure transmission. The braking power can be reduced on the front brakes which can cause an increased risk for collisions and injuries.
The motorcycle models affected are the GSX-R600 and GSX-R750 with the model year of 2004 through 2013. Additionally, the GSX-R1000 motorcycles are recalled with the model years of 2005 through 2013.
Suzuki will notify owners of the recall and Suzuki dealers will replace the defective front brake cylinder at no cost.
