Summer Infant video monitors, sold at Babies “R” Us and other specialty stores, have been recalled because the rechargeable batteries can overheat and rupture, posing the risk of burn and fire hazards. Summer Infant has received more than 22 reports of batteries rupturing, including accounts of smoke and property damage.
Approximately 800,000 rechargeable batteries are included in the recall. The batteries are marked with TCL on the corner and the serial number is located on the back.

Consumers with one of the baby monitors containing the recalled batteries should remove the battery and contact Summer Infant for a replacement. In the meantime, the monitor can still be used by connecting it to AC power with the power cord.
