Two big U.S. automakers have recalled over one million combined vehicles for various defects that can cause safety concerns.
Ford has issued a recall on 2013 and 2014 model Escape SUVs for airbag delays in the event of a rollover accident. In addition to the airbag deployment delay defect, certain Escape models are also recalled for door handles that may not latch correctly. The 692,500 vehicles recalled also include C-MAX crossovers.
Chrysler has issued a recall on 780,477 Dodge Grand Caravans and Chrysler Town & Country minivans for window power switches that can overheat and cause injuries. The minivans recalled are 2010 through 2014 models.
