Ford has issued a recall on 2014 model Ford Escape vehicles and 2015 model Lincoln MKC vehicles due to possible fuel pump defects. The fuel pump may contain improper nickel plating which could cause the fuel pump to fail, therefore causing the vehicle to stall. If a vehicle stalls suddenly and without warning it could increase the risk of an accident and serious injury.
The recalled Ford Escape models were manufactured from April 15, 2014 through May 8, 2014 and the Lincoln MKC models were manufactured from April 21, 2014 through May 15, 2014.
Ford Motor Company will notify owners of the recalled vehicles and the dealer will replace the fuel pump at no charge. Owners can call Ford at 1-866-436-7332 with additional questions.
