In 2012, the defendant driver of a vehicle owned by a national company lost control of his truck and trailer because he fell asleep at the wheel. He ultimately flipped the truck and trailer and it rolled onto its driver side along the interstate in the direct path of our client’s semi truck. Our client was unable to prevent from running into the defendant driver’s truck as he was coming around the corner in his semi.
Our client had to be extracted from his truck; his legs were pinned against the dash board. In 2012, our client underwent closed intra and extra articular distal fracture of the left wrist. The doctor stated that the fracture was looking as if well aligned, however some screws were close to the articular surface which would require removal of the hardware. In 2013, our client underwent removal of the hardware in his left wrist. He received a settlement in the amount of $260,000.
