Pottery Barn has issued a recall for “Sweet Lambie Crib Bumpers” due to possible entanglement risks for infants and young children. Over 12,000 units have been distributed throughout Pottery Barn Kids stores, Pottery Barn Outlet stores, and online catalogs during April 2009 through July 2012. There have been two incident reports of children becoming entangled by the decorative stitching coming loose. One incident involved a thread that was wrapped around a child’s neck.
“Sweet Lambie Crib Bumpers” are cotton bumpers made to fit standard cribs to provide padded support. The decorative elements include embroidered lambs in grass or lambs with trees on the interior and exterior of the padding. The recalled bumpers were sold in pink, blue, and ivory/oatmeal colors as well.
Located on the tag fastened on the edge of the bumper, the recalled models numbers are 708859, 708917, or 7988348. The recalled years will be printed as 04/2009 through 07/2012 on an adjacent tag.
Consumers in possession of the recalled “Sweet Lambie Crib Bumpers” should discontinue use immediately. Consumers are advised to contact Pottery Barn Kids for instructions on how to receive a full refund in the form of a gift card or a replacement.
