Fiat Chrysler Must Buy Back Over 500,000 Ram Trucks
Fiat Chrysler must offer to buy back over 500,000 Ram pickup trucks to settle legal issues after twenty three different recalls. The Ram pickup is one of Fiat Chrysler’s top selling vehicles that has been recalled for defective steering parts and previous repairs have been unsuccessful. In an effort to get the vehicles that could lose control off the roads, Fiat Chrysler must offer a buy back.
Fiat Chrysler faces a record civil fine of up to $105 million for failing to notify customers of recalls, delays in repairs, and in certain cases not being able to fix the safety problems. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, a buy back occurs when vehicles have problems that are so serious they need to be removed from service and can’t be fixed.
Fiat Chrysler will notify owners who are eligible for the buy backs. Owners can call Chrysler at 1-800-334-9200 with additional questions.
