Britax Child Safety Inc. has recalled more than 700,000 B-Agile and BOB Motion strollers with Click & GO receiver mounts. When the strollers are used with the travel system, the Click & Go mounts can disengage and detach from the stroller unexpectedly posing a serious injury hazard to children.
The recalled B-Agile and BOB Motion stroller systems have been sold since May 2011 at Babies R Us, Buy Buy Baby, Target, Amazon, and other stores nationwide.
Britax has received at least 33 reports of the car seats detaching without warning and falling. At least 26 injuries have been reported, including bumps to the head, bruises and cuts. The company has also received 1,337 reports of receiver mount damages when trying to attach the travel systems to the strollers.
The company has advises owners to temporarily stop using the B-Agile and BOB strollers as a travel system. The company states it is safe to use the stroller for infants in the recline mode. They recommend getting rid of the Click & Go receivers and contacting Britax consumer services for a free repair kit.
