Our client was stopped at a red light when he was rear-ended by a semi-truck. The client began treating with an area chiropractor and was later recommended by a co-worker to see an orthopaedic surgeon as his back pain continued. He began treatment with the recommended surgeon and in 2011 underwent a level 1 lumbar interbody fusion at L5-S1. The defendants argued that the surgery wasn’t necessary. Burnetti, P.A.set our client’s case for trial and had a mediation in 2012. The defendants offered $50,000 at mediation, which our client did not agree to accept. Shortly after the mediation, Burnetti, P.A. attended a hearing over several motions that were filed; Burnetti, P.A. won all the motions. The defendants immediately raised their offer and after a few days of negotiations, Burnetti, P.A. settled for $287,500.
