Kiddle, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of fire safety products, is recalling 4.6 million disposable plastic fire extinguishers in the United States for valve defects. The plastic valves on the extinguishers may not discharge when the lever is released causing the extinguisher not to work properly in the event of an emergency.
The fire extinguishers recalled were sold at Walmart, Home Depot, and other retail and hardware stores nationwide from August 2013 through November 2014. The extinguishers are red, white, or silver, and contain the manufacture dates July 23, 2013 through October 15, 2014.
The thirty-one different models issued in the recall include the model numbers located on the front plate of the extinguishers. Click Here to see the full list of recalled model numbers.
Kiddle warns consumers to immediately contact them at 855-283-7991 for a replacement.
