BMW has recalled approximately 156,000 vehicles in the United States for bolts that can loosen and break and can cause power or stalling issues. The recall includes certain 2010 through 2012 cars and SUV models. If the car loses power or stalls, it can increase the risk of getting in a collision and causing injuries.

BMW dealers will replace the defective bolts at no cost. An additional 170,000 vehicles with six-cylinder engines will not be included in the recall, but will have extended warranties.
