General Motors has announced a voluntary recall of 12,626 vehicles due to the rear seat head restraints that may not lock in the upright position after being folded forward, increasing the risk of a neck injury.
According to the recall notice, in the event of a vehicle crash, the lowered head restraint may increase the occupant’s risk of a neck injury. The recalls affects the following vehicles that are equipped with the head restraints:
- Model year 2013 Cadillac XTS manufactured October 2011 through August 2013
Under the recall notice, General Motors will notify owners and dealers will replace the head restraints and it will be performed free of charge. For additional information, owners may contact General Motors at 1-800-458-8006.
