Chevrolet and GMC have announced a voluntary recall of 33,964 vehicles due to a potential tire pressure monitoring system that could cause overheating that may lead to a crash.
According to the recall notice, under-inflated tires can result in overloading and overheating, which could lead to a blowout or crash. The recall affects the following vehicles that are equipped with a tire pressure monitoring system:
- Model year 2012 Chevrolet Equinox vehicles manufactured from July 2011 to September 2011
- Model year 2012 GMC Terrain vehicles manufactured from July 2011 to September 2011
Under the recall notice, GMC will update the body control module free of charge. For addition information, owners may contact Chevrolet at 1-800-630-2438.
