General Motors has announced a voluntary recall of 4,296 vehicles due to the front brake inner or outer pad that may be missing and may result in a crash.
According to the recall notice, the missing pad could result in reduced brake system performance potentially leading to a crash. The recalls affects the following vehicles that are equipped with the disc pads:
- Model year 2012 Chevrolet Sonic manufactured June 2011 through November 2011
Under the recall notice, GM will notify owners and dealers will inspect the front brakes for a missing inner or outer pad and replace free of charge. The recall is expected to begin on or before January 14, 2012.
