Prime-Line Products Co. Inc. is recalling several child-safety products sold under the Child Safe brand because they may fail to provide the intended safety measures.
The recalled bathtub non-slip pads are white and whale-shaped with textured surfaces and adhesive backings. The pads are intended to help prevent children from slipping and falling in bathtubs; however, some pads do not stick to the bathtub surface and may actually pose a fall hazard to consumers. The recall notice directs consumers to immediately stop using the bath pads.
The recalled bathtub non-slip pads range in size from 2 to 4 inches tall, and were sold in sets of 12 and 15 at Ace Hardware and Menards nationwide between May 24, 2010 and June 13, 2011 for approximately $6. The mats may be identified by the model number S-4630 and SKU number 049793846303 printed on the back of the packaging. For a full refund and/or additional information, consumers may contact Prime-Line at (855) 839-9555 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. PT, or visit www.prime-line-products.com.
The recalled child safety latches and outlet covers are being recalled because the screws can loosen and/or break, allowing young children to gain access to electrical outlets and other potentially hazardous items the safety measures are intended to protect them from.
The drawer and cabinet latches were sold between October 2010 and June 2011 for between $2.50 and $2.70 at Ace Hardware, Bostwic-Braun, Cal-Do-It Centers, Do-It-Best, Friedman Brothers, Menards, Orgill, The Andersons Inc. and True Value stores nationwide. The outlet covers were sold between October 2009 and June 2011 for approximately $3.50 at Ace Hardware, Cimarron Lumber & Supply, Do-It-Best, Friedman Brothers, Handy Hardware, Menards and W.E. Aubuchon.
