Amidst pressure from regulators, Ford is expanding their recall of F150 and Lincoln Mark LT pickup trucks. The recall was initiated due to faulty airbags that may go off unexpectedly, injuring drivers. The recall involves Ford F150s manufactured from 2004 through 2006, and Lincoln Mark LTs 2006 models.
In February, Ford agreed to recall 144,000 trucks; on Thursday, U.S. safety regulars announced Ford is expanding the recall to nearly 1.3 million trucks.
National Highway Traffic Safety Administration records show the agency has received more than 200 complaints from drivers of sudden air bag deployment, causing more than 60 injuries.
