Ford Motor Company has announced a voluntary recall of 128,616 vehicles due to the wheel studs fracturing and may cause a wheel to separate, increasing the risk of a crash.
According to the recall notice, the operator may experience vehicle vibration and/or wheel separation, potentially leading to a crash. The recalls affects the following vehicles that are equipped with the wheel lug nuts:
- Model year 2010 Ford Fusion manufactured from April 2009 to November 2010
- Model year 2010 Mercury Milan manufactured from April 2009 to November 2010
Under the recall notice, Ford will notify owners and dealers will inspect the rear brake disc and the lug nuts will be replaced free of charge. For addition information, owners may contact the Ford Motor Company at 1-866-436-7332.
