Hyundai is voluntarily recalling 2013 Santa Fe Sport SUVs due to front axle failures that could result in loss of wheel function. The manufacturing issue can result in the right front axle shaft fracturing, which could cause loss of power to the wheels. Additionally, the parked vehicle could roll away if the parking brake is not engaged.
The recall includes 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport SUV models with front wheel drive and a 2.4-liter engine. The vehicles were manufactured from July 13, 2012 through March 12, 2013.
Hyundai will notify owners of the recall and dealers will change the front axle shaft assembly at no charge. Owners with additional questions can contact Hyundai.
