Nissan of North America, Inc. has announced a voluntary recall of 7,365 vehicles due to the electric power steering (EPS) that may separate from the circuit board and leading to loss of the power steering, increasing the force needed to steer the vehicle and increasing the risk of a crash.
According to the recall notice, the circuit board may not have been installed in the correct position on certain electric power steering (EPS) assist control units. This may cause additional stress on the solder of the terminal to the circuit board resulting in the solder cracking and separating completely from the circuit board. The recalls affects the following vehicles that are equipped with the EPS control unit:
- Model year 2011 Nissan Rogue manufactured from August 2010 to October 2010
Under the recall notice, Nissan will notify owners and dealers will replace the EPS control unit free of charge. For addition information, owners may contact Subaru at 1-800-782-2783.
