The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office released a new report that shows the 25 most dangerous intersections in Jacksonville during 2009.
The report indicates the location with the most car accidents is the East Arlington intersection of Atlantic Boulevard and Kernan Boulevard, with 170 accidents; according to a News 4 Jax article, almost one-quarter of those car accidents resulted in injuries. Due to a new overpass that opened at the intersection since 2009, the police expect there will be fewer accidents at this intersection in the next reporting cycle.
Of the seven Jacksonville intersections with the most car accidents, five were on Atlantic Boulevard; the other intersections include Southside Boulevard, Monument Road, University Boulevard and Hodges Boulevard. To view the complete list of 25 High Frequency Crash Corridors in 2009, click here.
