Target has expanded its recall for the Circo Child Booster Seats due to additional fall reports filed since the last booster seat recall in August 2009.
The recalled Circo Child Booster Seats may pose a fall hazard to a child due to the seat’s restraint buckle opening unexpectedly. Since the initial recall notice, Target has received ten additional reports of the restraint buckle failing to secure the child resulting in the child falling forward out of the seat.
The recall pertains to about 375,000 Circo Booster Seats sold at Target stores nationwide from January 2005 to June 2009 for around $13. The plastic blue booster seats have green trim with a plastic white restraint buckle. The booster seat attaches to an adult chair and may be identified by a green product label on the front of the seat that displays the words ‘Circo’ and ‘booster seat’ along with a bar code.
Consumers are encouraged to return the booster seats to any Target store for a complete refund. Customers may also contact Target at 1-800-440-0680 Monday through Friday from 8am to 7pm EST or via the company’s website at www.target.com for additional information.
