Thermobaby Aquababy Bath Ring Seats, sold exclusively on Amazon.com, have been recalled by the manufacturer SCS Direct Inc. due to stability hazards, which poses a drowning risk to small children. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the baby bath seats did not meet federal safety standards. The seats can tip over because they failed to meet the requirement for stability, which could cause small children sitting inside the bath ring seats to drown.
Sold during June 2012 through January 2013, around 7,500 Thermobaby Aquababy ring seats are issued in the recall. They were sold in a pink or blue design and intended for children between the ages of five months to ten months. Suction cups are on the bottom of the bath seats and there are three spinning toys located on the front of the seat. Underneath the seat are the engravings “Aquababy” “Thermobaby Z.I. De Kerbois” and “Ref. 1953 Made in France.”
Consumers should immediately stop use of the bath seats and inquire about a refund.
