Toyota Motor North America has announced a voluntary recall of 420,326 vehicles due to a crankshaft pulley that may become misaligned and lead to a crash.
According to the recall notice, the power steering pump may be detached from the pulley, which could result in the loss of power steering, potentially a crash. The recall affects the following vehicles that are equipped with the crankshaft pulley on the handle:
- Model year 2004 Lexus ES330, RX330 manufactured from June 2004 to March 2005
- Model year 2006 Lexus RX400H manufactured from June 2004 to March 2005
- Model year 2004 Toyota Avalon, Camry, Camry Solara, Highlander, Sienna manufactured from June 2004 to March 2005
- Model year 2006 Toyota Highlander Hybrid manufactured from June 2004 to March 2005
Under the recall notice, Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will check and replace pulley free of charge. For addition information, owners may contact Toyota at 1-800-331-4331.
