Tyson Foods have issued a recall for over 75,000 pounds of frozen chicken nuggets after receiving complaints that the chicken was contaminated with parts of plastic. The recall includes 5-pound bags and 20-pound packs of the chicken nuggets sold at SAM’s Club stores.
The 5-pound bag of “Tyson Fully Cooked White Meat Chicken Nuggets -16142-928” contains the manufacturer’s codes 0264SDL0315 through 0319 and 0474SDL0315 through 0134.
According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Good Safety and Inspection Service, the contamination can be traced back to a product scraper in a blending machine. Some mouth injuries were reported due to the small bits of plastic inside the chicken nuggets. Consumers with questions or concerns about the recall can contact Tyson Foods at 866-328-3156.
