Woodstock Percussion has recalled its Gripper Shaker Musical Instrument due to the possibility of choking and/or laceration hazards.
The shakers are 5 ½†long and are available in blue and green with an open circular handle and an egg-shaped top containing steel pellets. The shakers create music by shaking the pellets within the egg-shaped barrel.
The recall relates to the handle separating from the shaker. Once the handle detaches from the shaker, a rough edge may be created causing a laceration hazard. The detached handle may also expose a plastic plug and small steel pellets creating a potential choking hazard.
The shakers were sold online and at retail stores nationwide from August 2010 to March 2011 for about $5 each. The recalled shakers bear the marking “B4†on the top of the egg shaped barrel.
