A female client suffered a stroke that resulted in a traumatic brain injury and hemiplegia after the female codefendant nurse removed her intravenous line at the hospital where she was a patient. Our client contended that the medical center failed to properly hire, train, and supervise its medical staff, and failed to provide the proper standard of care. The client’s suit claimed that she suffered a stroke and brain damage when the removal of the line caused an air embolism, leaving her with left-side paralysis and cognitive problems that require 24-hour care from her husband. The outcome was a verdict for our client, who was awarded $3,820,000.
